WHAT IS THE AOMT?

The Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) is a leading post-graduate training academy for allied health professionals who want to treat orofacial myofunctional disorders.

Our mission is to offer the strongest foundation for health professionals to learn this critical therapy and bring its benefits to those who need it.

Our goal is to have every student successful at developing a clinically and professionally rewarding practice.

In addition to courses, we endeavor to increase awareness of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) amongst the medical, dental, and academic communities to support the acceptance and progress of this profession world-wide.

We educate health professionals on how to recognize and treat orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) and how to incorporate Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) into a practice.

OMT is a program used to correct breathing, swallowing, and chewing disorders, normalize freeway space, help stabilize the bite, and eliminate noxious oral habits such as tongue-thrusting and thumb-sucking. OMT stabilizes orthodontic, surgical, and dental results.

The AOMT offers further on-going assistance
via the internet with professional problems you may have.

We have a networked referral system for receiving new patients from doctors in your area. We schedule several courses throughout the year at various locations across the North America and the world.

This is an Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) course for advanced study in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and offers AGD CEU’s.

In order to practice myofunctional therapy, you will need to check your state laws (U.S.). We require that everyone who trains with us holds a valid license in an allied health field, including but not limited to: Dental Hygiene, Speech Pathology, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy. When you register, you will be asked to provide your current license number. For any questions please contact us at info@aomtinfo.org.
